Rod works with privately owned businesses, their owners, and tax sensitive individuals to maximize after tax income. He spends a considerable amount of his time helping clients develop appropriate financial plans, manage that plan and navigate the tax liability related to the plan. In addition to his role with Dooley and Company, LLC, Rod is a financial advisor with Carolina Wealth Management, LLC.
Rod’s experience in assurance services, centers around local governments, school districts, nonprofits, HUD and nonpublic companies.
Additionally, Rod holds a Certified in Financial Forensics designation, specifically for his work with litigation support for our clients. These engagements include damage calculations, family court marital asset addendum and financial declaration support, hidden asset recovery, and small business valuations.
In 2018, CPA Practice Advisor named him to their 40 under 40 CPAs and he is a 2015 graduate of the AICPAs Leadership Academy. Nationally, he serves on the National Accreditation Committee and the Student Recruitment Committee with the AICPA.
Rod was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina where he graduated from Lexington High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Real Estate in 2006 from the University of South Carolina, and has been a member of the firm ever since.

formed what is now known as Dooley and Company, LLC in 1983. Keith received his accounting degree from the University of South Carolina. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is also accredited as a Personal Financial Specialist. He is also a principal with Carolina Wealth Management, LLC, an in-house wealth management firm. His affiliation with both firms allows for seamless financial planning and management for high net worth clients. Keith strongly believes in supporting his community. Keith is a life long resident of Lexington County. Keith is an avid sportsman and enjoys spending time away from the office hunting and boating. Most weekends outside of January- mid April, you can find him on Lake Murray or in the creeks surrounding Edisto Island with his wife Brenda.
Amy Sawyer Ely, CPA is a Vice President of Dooley and Company, LLC. Amy specializes in individual and corporate taxation; governmental, tax exempt, and non-public company assurance services. She has extensive experience with small business, school districts, local governments, and non profit organizations. Amy grew up in Saluda, South Carolina where she graduated from W. Wyman King Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1993 and a Masters of Professional Accountancy – Taxation in 1994 from Clemson University . Amy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants and of South Carolina’s Association of Certified Public Accountants. Amy is member of Spring Valley Baptist Church. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dennis, a special education teacher at Blythewood High School, and their four children.
Robin joined Dooley & Company in 2022. Prior to joining, Robin was the principal of Haynes and Company, PA for twenty years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina.He has 30+ years of accounting experience, including auditing and tax work, the Farm Credit System, and banking.
Aaron joined Dooley and Company, LLC in August 2022. He has prior experience with public accounting and taxation.
Aaron grew up in Summerville, South Carolina where he graduated form Fort Dorchester High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Newberry College in 2021. Aaron expects to receive his Master in Accounting from Purdue University Global in April of 2023 with a focus in Public Accounting. Upon graduation, he will be a CPA candidate.
In his free time, Aaron enjoys playing baseball, fishing, baking, and taking care of plants. He also loves going on walks with his girlfriend, Jewel, and his dog, Boom.
Elizabeth Schulken,
Senior Manager, Small Business Services
has been a critical team member of Dooley and Company for three decades as the manager of our business services. Her practice area focuses on small to medium sized business bookkeeping and payroll services. She is proficient in Quickbooks Online and Desktop applications as well as other business accounting platforms. Elizabeth is a graduate of Columbia College.
Kathleen Godwin,
Senior Manager, Small Business Services
Kathleen has enjoyed a long and varied career in accounting for small to mid-sized businesses in Pennsylvania & New York. A summa cum laude graduate of King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Kathleen passed the CPA exam in 1991. She and her husband – artist John Pacovsky – relocated to beautiful Lexington, SC in 2021 to be near family. Kathleen feels very proud to be a member of the talented team at Dooley & Company. On her days off, you’ll find her narrating audiobooks from her home studio, practicing classical guitar, knitting, and tending to her roses.

Prior to joining our team, Jimmie accumulated 30+ years of experience in accounting in several industries: international logistics and freight forwarding services, scheduled airline service (part 121), tier I parts manufacturing, and dealership services. He previously worked with Haynes and Company, PA for many years and specializes in Farm Credit taxes, cost studies, and various consulting projects. Jimmie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wofford College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.
as been the office manager for Dooley and Company, LLC since 1992. In addition to billing and accounts payable responsibilities, Debbie assists with electronic submissions of tax filings.
Debbie grew up in Forest Acres, South Carolina where she graduated from the University of South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and minor in Accounting in 1981. She continued her education with an Associate Degree in Banking from the American Association of Banking at Midlands Technical College in 1983.
Debbie is a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church. During her free time, she enjoys spending time by the pool with her husband, Robbin and their two daughters, and grandkids.
